Ad Hoc

Door Data or a Feature Group that's part of a Door Job without being linked to any library revision. See Ad Hoc.

Axis Icon

The icon in the lower left of the Job Preview showing the door's L (length), W (width), and T (thickness) axes.

Dado

A slot or trench cut across the surface of a jamb, perpendicular to the grain. (A groove runs with the grain.) The dado's length and depth are jamb properties. See Jamb Data.

Diff

Compares two files and highlights their differences: values from the first file in red and the second in green. Available in each library, on the Door Data, Door Job, and Feature Group screens, and in the revision pane. See Diff.

Door Data

Everything about the door slab, and optionally its jamb: size, hand, bevels, materials, and so on. Door Data contains no cutting information. It can be created in the Door Data Library and added to Door Jobs. See Door and Jamb Data.

Door Data Library

The library of saved Door Data files. A Door Data file can be used by many Door Jobs. See Libraries.

Door Job

All the information needed to process a door and/or jamb: one set of Door Data plus the Feature Groups describing the work to do. Door Jobs are added to the queue to run. See Door Jobs.

Door Job Library

The library of saved Door Jobs. See Libraries.

Expression

A property value written as a formula, such as $Door.Thickness / 2. Expressions can refer to the door, the jamb, parent features, and math functions, and are evaluated to numbers before a job is previewed, validated, or run. See Expressions.

Feature

A single cut or operation on a door or jamb, such as a rectangular plate of a given length, width, and depth at a given location. A Feature can have child Features, which inherit its location. See Feature Groups and Features.

Feature Group

A set of Features to perform on a door or jamb, with its own references and locations. Also called a group or template. Feature Groups can be saved to the Feature Group Library and added to many Door Jobs. See Feature Groups and Features.

Feature Group Library

The library of saved Feature Groups, one Feature Group per file. See Libraries.

Feature Type

The kind of shape a Feature cuts, such as Rectangle, Circle, Hinge, or LiteCutout. See Feature Types.

Handing

Which side a door's hinges are on, and which way it swings: Left Hand, Right Hand, Left Hand Reverse, or Right Hand Reverse. See Door Handing.

Jamb Data

The properties of the door's frame: the hinge and lock jambs, the header, and the gaps between them and the door. See Jamb Data.

Library Principle

Door Data or a Feature Group added to a Door Job from the library with no changes. See Library Principle.

Library Principle Variant

See Variant.

Principle

The current revision of a library file. Any revision can be made the Principle. See Revisions.

Rabbet

A deep notch cut in or near the edge of a jamb. The rabbet width is a jamb property. See Jamb Data.

Revision

A save point in a library file's history, created each time you save changes to an existing Door Job, Door Data, or Feature Group. See Revisions.

Validation

The check KvalCAM runs on every Feature before a Door Job can be added to the queue, to confirm the machine line can make each cut. See Validation.

Validation Report

A report listing the tests each Feature failed, with an explanation of each. See Validation Report.

Variant

A library revision that was changed after being added to a Door Job. Variants keep track of which revision they came from. See Variants.

View Cube

The cube in the lower right of the Job Preview. Select a face, edge, or corner to turn the view to it.
